Intro:
As a Dad with young kids, I have always dreamed about being able to get out and enjoy the great outdoors with my kids and still get to play the game I love. Before I found out about the Baby Caddie, I tried several ways to golf with my toddler and the best solution was to push the stroller and carry my golf bag.
That was a strenuous workout and my energy and golf game seemed to decline after about 7 or 8 holes. I enjoy working out and lifting regularly so the physical strain never bothered me, but I wanted a more efficient solution to be able to get my kids to enjoy golf and not wear myself out doing it.
Then came along this ingenious solution from Ben in the creation of the Baby Caddie. He created a collapsible “golf bag” that fits between the handles of any stroller. It has a towel loop, 2 individual storage pouches, and 6 grommet holes to store clubs in (website says up to 12 clubs, I could only fit 8). It can also be used as a range bag or travel bag without the stroller.
What is the Baby Caddie?
The Baby Caddie is made for those parents who can’t sneak a quick 9 holes in without the kids or are looking to give their significant other a break. It’s not stated in the website, but it is an awful idea to bring kids to a crowded golf course and you should always check with the course to see if they allow kids at the course.
The Baby Caddie is a golf bag that attaches between the stroller handles. It has 6 grommet holes in the top for golf clubs and 2 pockets for golf accessories. It also comes with a strap that you can convert it to a very light carry bag similar to a “Sunday bag”.
Verdict- 4/5 stars:
This is a great product for moms and dads with busy lives. It was easy to use, and took seconds to install on the stroller.
However, it will be a deal breaker for those who have to golf with a full set of clubs (I could only fit 8 standard grips in mine). If I’m being honest though, if you are bringing your kids to the course don’t expect an efficient or productive round/range session. There are several tips and tricks golfing with babies and toddlers make your round as fun as possible with your kids!
There is also limited storage space in the 2 pockets that will not be able to hold all of the diaper bag accessories needed for babies/toddlers (diapers, wipes, toys, etc.)
Most strollers have some sort of storage space for diaper bag necessities so this should not be an issue, but I wanted to make you aware of it.

First Impression:
I was impressed with how tight and compact it was folded up. It would take up no room in your trunk or backseat and could easily stay there without having to unpack and pack it each time you want to go golfing.
I unpacked this and was immediately disappointed by the 6 grommet holes for golf club storage. I would have thought there would have been a long rectangular slot that would have allowed for a full set of clubs and an umbrella.
The pouches seemed really small for all of your golf equipment and baby/toddler supplies. If your stroller does not have any storage capabilities, you will not have much room for all of your essentials and golf equipment (wallet, phone, keys, tees, balls, divot tool, etc.) as well as baby/toddler essentials (food/drink, toys, wipes/diapers, etc.).
Most strollers have some storage capacity for your kids stuff, so the lack of storage space in the pockets should be a non issue.
I was a fan of the straps to hold it onto the stroller handles and it seemed that it would fit a variety of strollers. It fit my single and double stroller quite well.
What I loved about the Baby Caddie
Versatility
Being able to walk with a stroller without having to carry clubs on my back is the main reason for purchasing the Baby Caddie. It should fit every stroller out there, it fits our single stroller as well as the double stroller. It also installs in seconds as well as only taking seconds to put into the carry bag.
Lightweight and Compact
Weighing only 1.8 pounds, it doesn’t affect the weight of the stroller much at all. It honestly felt like another walk in the park. It takes up minimal space and would be great to keep in the trunk or backseat of your car for a quick 9 holes or range session.
Quality Time with the Kid(s)
I was able to go golfing and have a great time with my 2 year old and still get a good workout in! Luckily, the course was empty when we went. I was able to let him adventure on the greens, hit a few putts, and spend some quality time doing what I love with the ones I love.
Converts to a Carry Bag
It would be perfect for a quick range session where all you really need is 6-8 clubs and a few tees. It is extremely lightweight with a comfortable shoulder strap.
What i didn’t like about the baby caddie
Limited Club Space
Limited club space- I could not get 2 clubs in each hole like advertised. I was only able to bring 8 clubs (one club in each of the 5 smaller holes and 3 in the biggest hole).
Baby Caddie Gets in Way of Legs While Pushing
This is also a minor annoyance as handles for strollers are not made for tall people (I’m 6’3”). It felt like the baby caddie would hit my legs about every other step if I took my normal stride. I just had to walk with my arms a little more extended than normal to make it work.
Once again, not a huge deal and it may not be an issue for shorter people than me and/or have different style of strollers. An additional strap on the back of the Baby Caddie to hook onto the stroller to hold it more upright could alleviate this issue.
Limited Pouch Space
Limited Pouch Space- It was enough for me, but may not be for those who need sufficient space for kids stuff as well as their own wallet, keys, cellphone, divot tool, etc.
That’s only your golf stuff. Good luck getting any kids stuff such as food, toys, etc. in there. Luckily, every stroller I’ve ever seen has some sort of storage space, so the 2 pockets in the Baby Caddie will be enough for your golfing supplies 99% of the time.
No Water Bottle Holder
No Water Bottle Holder- You could attach one to the towel loop, but would be nice if it had a sewn in pocket for a water bottle. Most strollers have some sort of water bottle holder or storage compartment, but it’s a minor detail that would be nice to have.
No Golf Tee Holder
This is an incredibly minor detail as it has pockets for golf accessories, but something sewn into the top of the baby caddie to hold a tee or two would help empty your pockets.
Single Stroller Tips Easy when Taking Kid out with Baby Caddie Installed
This may just be my stroller as well, but I had to put my foot on the stroller most of the time to take my kid out without the single stroller tipping over. Not a huge deal, but something most should be aware of.
Recommendations for Baby Caddie 2.0.
My main gripes about the Baby Caddie are not being able to use a full set and lack of storage space in the pockets. All the other recommendations are just little things in my opinion that could be added to help make this the perfect version of the Baby Caddie.
Bigger Holes or Rectangular Slot to Hold Full Set of Clubs
I don’t mind practicing half shots and using creativity that’s involved with only using a partial set. However, to some this is a deal breaker. I think a large rectangular slot for a full set of clubs would be an instant improvement and would instantly make this a must buy for every parent in my opinion.
Increased Storage Space
Let me start off by saying the current storage space is more than enough for 90-95% of cases. However, I could see there not being enough room if you have 2 kids with you and you need to bring snacks, toys, books, etc. along with your wallet, keys, phone, golf balls, golf glove, etc.
I would love to see the pockets get a little bigger or have an additional pocket near the bottom. An extra pocket or an open slot near the bottom for books, Melissa and Doug Water Wow books (highly recommend to keep kids entertained), etc.
Water Bottle Holder
I think you need some sort of water bottle holder. You’ll be thirsty at some point during the round, and you know that kids are always either thirsty or hungry. Granted, most strollers have a water bottle holder, but would be nice to have one on the Baby Caddie for the adult.
Third strap to hold Baby Caddie more upright
An additional strap on the back to hook onto the stroller to hold it more upright could alleviate the issue of the bag hitting your legs while you walk. The Baby Caddie tends to swing out towards your legs as you push the cart, and can be annoying if its constantly hitting your legs as you walk.
Final Thoughts:
I strongly recommend the Baby Caddie for anyone who is looking to get some good exercise while spending some quality time with your kid(s) outdoors playing the game you love.
I love the fact that it encourages exercise, as most parents tend to neglect exercise and use their kids as an excuse. Walking in nature has numerous health benefits, and being able to golf on top of it is icing on the cake. I wish more people would strive to walk on the course, golf is great for your health but I find it also walking benefits your golf game.
There are a few updates I would like seeing before I could say it’s a most buy for every parent. Not being able to bring a full set of clubs will be a deal breaker for some, I know it was discouraging for me. Also, would love to see a little more storage space if possible in case of limited stroller storage space.
Let me know what you think, I hope this gives everyone the incentive to get some exercise and enjoy some golf with the people you love!
