11 Best Golf Forums to Keep You Entertained for Hours [2023]

I find that golf forums are a great way to get honest and accurate feedback on equipment reviews, golf course reviews, etc. I am a member of several of these groups, and here are the best golf forums based on what you are looking to get out of it.

1. Golf WRX FORUM

Golf WRX is the biggest and most comprehensive golf forum out there. Discussions about the latest tour equipment, club making/club fitting, golf bags/carts, and golf accessories are very helpful and detailed for anyone looking to upgrade in these areas.

Golf WRX has the BEST golf course, resorts, and membership reviews. If there is anything you have wondered about golf and traveling, chances are it’s been discussed in this forum.

GOLF WRX also excels in golf instruction videos and discussion for men and women. There is also a great Q&A section that discusses and answers any questions about golf course rules and etiquette.

If anyone asks about how to get into the game of golf, I will point them here as it has so much valuable information for complete beginners as well as those of us looking for some little nuggets on golf drills, course reviews, or general golf banter.

2. The HACKERS PARADISE Forum

The Hackers Paradise is a great forum that comprehensively talks about everything golf related such as Pro Tour talk, golf apparel and style, equipment talk, game improvement, etc.

If not for GOLF WRX, this would easily be the top choice for the best golf forum.

Where Hackers Paradise excels versus GOLFWRX is their Golf Apparel, training aids/ books/ DVDS,  and their golf nutrition discussion.

If you ever need a second opinion on a training aid or golf instruction book or DVD, chances are it’s been discussed at the Hackers Paradise.

3. THE SAND TRAP Forum

The Sand Trap is a great forum that discusses a bunch of golf related topics like Golf WRX and Hackers Paradise such as Pro Tour talk, equipment, travel, instruction, etc.

The Sand Trap truly stands out for its golf course reviews, architecture & design discussion, and its dedicated section to golf fitness and exercise.

Whether you want to discuss the architecture by MacKenzie, Tillinghast, Donald Ross, etc., or your favorite local muni, there is plenty to be discussed here.

If you are in need of golf fitness advice and nutrition to hit it farther and have better stamina, this is the place to go.

The Sand Trap is a great resource with great discussions if you are in need of a new lifting routine, great stretches for golf, the immense benefits that golf has to offer, best apps/watches, etc.

I know I have picked up a few nuggets of advice from going through several of the stretching threads.

4. MY GOLF SPY

My Golf Spy is one of the blogs I consistently go to for advice on equipment reviews as they are unbiased and use robots for a majority of their testing which takes the human variables out of it such as contact, swing speed, etc.

They also have a great forum!

This forum is not as big as the big dogs like Golf WRX or The Hackers Paradise, but still has valuable information on everything golf related.

My Golf Spy forum excels at having great discussion around the latest news in the golf world, viral golf content, cigar reviews, and Japanese golf equipment.

If any of these topics are of interest, My Golf Spy is the forum for you.

5. GOLF SIMULATOR FORUM

This forum talks about all things dealing with golf simulators and launch monitors.

There are many threads that go into great detail about each type of golf simulator/launch monitor and which one is perfect for you based on your budget/ space requirements.

The build your own section is a lifesaver and shows how various users built their own enclosures, screens, mats, computer systems, etc.

I found my ideas for my retractable golf net in my garage and a DIY mat from this website, saving me hundreds in the process.

The users will often include a parts list or instructions on how they did it, which I found to be a huge help in my process to building a retractable garage golf net.

If you are looking at getting a golf simulator or even just building your own golf net or mat, this is the place to go with tons of unique ideas to save you money.

6. NO LAYING UP FORUM (THE REFUGE)

A few years ago this was my top pick for the best golf forum. In my opinion, this is the best golf podcast to listen to with top-notch interviews and weekly PGA tour recaps.

Unfortunately, most of their forum content is now behind a paywall. It involves great content such as golf course architecture discussion, golf travel tips, Bandon & Pinehurst threads, golf fitness, PGA/LPGA discussion, etc.

Unfortunately, the only discussion available to non-subscribers is general golf talk based on each state and event signups. This is still valuable and entertaining as there are great course reviews, public meetups, etc.

It may be worth it for some to sign up for their membership, but I couldn’t justify $90/year to participate in a forum and wouldn’t be able to take advantage of the other benefits the membership provides.

7. FACEBOOK GROUPS: BACKYARD GOLF GREENS, GARAGE GOLF SIMULATORS, GOLF TRIPS, BUYING/SELLING GOLF EQUIPMENT, ETC.

The best thing about Facebook Groups is that you can niche down into a certain group if you need more info or are passionate about backyard golf greens, golf simulators, selling golf equipment, etc.

I’m sure many of you are in the same boat as I am but I’ve always dreamed of having a backyard green to practice on. I doubt it would ever pass approval from the wife, but it’s still fun to look at all of the ideas that people use for their own backyard greens.

These groups are extremely helpful for anyone looking to venture into their own golf simulators, backyard greens, etc.

Those who have previously done it are proud to show off their hard work and willing to help others who are at the start of their journey.

8. GOLF MONTHLY

Golf Monthly is the Golf Digest of Europe, based in England. Their website is great for equipment reviews and golf lessons along with an avid fan base in the forums.

The forum is small compared to Golf WRX and The Hackers Paradise, but 2 of their forum sections really impressed me.

If you love picturesque golf course pictures, you will love “Your Golf Pictures”. Some of the most picturesque courses in Europe are on this list with plenty of HD pictures.

I get amazed at these pictures time and time again and get constantly reminded why I need to make a trip over to play golf “across the pond”.

If you live in Europe, it would be worth your time to check out their “Arrange a Game” threads where there are various meetups and competitions in every region.

They even have a google maps link where members are located if you are interested in golfing with Golf Monthly members!

9. GOLF REDDIT

For those that aren’t familiar with Reddit, Reddit is a network of communities where people can be active in discussions on their interests, hobbies and passions

There’s a community for whatever you’re interested in.

These communities are categorized as SubReddits (commonly shown as r/golf).

The golf subreddit content is actually quite disappointing and not that entertaining for having 602,000 members.

The Tournament discussions are interesting and there is the occasional funny meme but outside of that, there is no real reason to look at r/golf.

10. THE SOCIAL GOLFER

The Social Golfer is a British based forum and looks like it does not have a very active fanbase.

There is only one post in the past 30 days, but I am interested in their handicap calculator. It appears that if you are a paid member that you get to track your handicap as well as stats and graph about your golf game.

This could be a very useful tool to have and may be worth looking into. They also have 660 posts on golf courses to visit, which ones to avoid, etc. in Great Britian.

This would be great info for those like myself who have been dreaming of playing golf in Great Britain/Ireland.

I wouldn’t recommend this forum to anyone but it may be worth visiting if you want to get some intel on local courses or diamonds in the rough in Great Britain/Ireland for your next golfing trip.

11. GOLF FORUM

Golf Forum is a small forum of only 7,400 members. It appears that it does not get used much, as most of their thread sections have not had any activity in the past 30 days.

If you want to use the search feature to see if there’s anything that pertains to you, it may be of help.

I would personally stick to GOLF WRX or Hackers Paradise as most of the discussion is dated.

conclusion

As you can see, there are plenty of golf forums out there with avid golfers in each group.

Depending on what you are looking for, it may be advantageous to be in one group or the other.

In my personal opinion, if you join either Golf WRX or The Hackers Paradise Forum, you will get the majority of information needed in all topics golf related.

Hope you enjoyed the list and let me know if I missed any!
